Barracuda Networks, Inc., a leading provider of network security appliances, today launched the Barracuda Spam Firewall 100 for small businesses and organizations with 50 users or less. Priced at $899 with no per user licensing fees, the Barracuda Spam Firewall 100 offers the same easy to use, powerful spam and virus protection that more than 40,000 customers worldwide have come to rely on, at a price that is well within budget for smaller organizations.

The Barracuda Spam Firewall 100 features the award-winning 12 layers of defense characteristic of the full Barracuda Spam Firewall line. These layers include: denial of service and security protection, rate control, IP analysis, sender authentication, recipient verification, virus protection, policy (user-specified rules), Fingerprint Analysis, Intent Analysis, Image Analysis, Bayesian Analysis, and a Spam Rules Scoring engine. In addition, the Barracuda Spam Firewall 100 features the latest tools designed to prevent image spam, including multi-pass optical character recognition (OCR) and automated fingerprint generation techniques, as well as Predictive Sender Profiling, a sophisticated technique aimed at preventing spammers from obfuscating their identities to circumvent reputation analysis. Combined, these protections result in a spam accuracy rating exceeding 95 percent out of the box.
